Clinical practice of drug abnormal early warning based on dynamic monitoring of clinical pharmacists

Abstract

The practice of clinical pharmacists in dynamic monitoring and drug abnormal early warning was introduced, including medical order review, drug reorganization, dosage analysis and abnormal growth monitoring, interpretation and implementation of department indicators, follow-up and feedback of continuous monitoring and abnormal early warning, etc. The role of clinical pharmacists in this management was evaluated by comparing the category changes of top 20 drugs in terms of consumption sum, the changes of consumption sum of key monitored drugs, the increase changes of outpatient and emergency drug cost per time and inpatient drug cost per case from 2020 to 2022. The results showed that during 2020-2022, the composition of the top 20 drug categories in terms of consumption sum was more reasonable, and the consumption amount of key monitored drugs, the average outpatient and emergency drug costs and hospitalization drug costs showed a decreasing trend year by year. Compared with 2021, the consumption amount of key monitored drugs, outpatient and emergency drug cost per time and inpatient drug cost per case were decreased by 10.07%, 7.20% and 17.70% in 2022, respectively. It can be seen that clinical pharmacists play an important role in drug dynamic monitoring and abnormal early warning, and it is effective means to control drug cost and to promote rational drug use.
