Visual analysis of research hotspots, and trends on immunomodulatory effects of Tripterygium Wilfordii Hook.f.

Abstract

Objective To visually analyze the relevant research on immune regulation of Tripterygium wilfordii Hook.f. aiming to explore the current research status, hotspots, and trends in this field.

Methods Relevant literature published on CNKI and Web of Science from January 2006 to December 2025 was retrieved and screened based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, and CiteSpace software was used to analyze publication volume, author and institutional collaborations, and keywords.

Results A total of 962 Chinese and English literature was included, and the annual publication volume reached its peak in 2019 and then stabilized. There were 183 core authors for Chinese literature and 119 core authors for English literature. There were 55 core publishing institutions for Chinese literature and 40 core publishing institutions for English literature. The research hotspots on immune regulation of Tripterygium wilfordii Hook.f. mainly focused on its immune regulation mechanism, the therapeutic effect and its preparations on immune related diseases, pharmacological effects, research on combination therapy, and regulation of inflammatory microenvironment.

Conclusion Research on the immune regulation of Tripterygium wilfordii Hook.f. mainly focuses on mechanisms, therapeutic effects, pharmacology, combination therapy, and inflammation regulation. However, high-quality clinical evidence is still insufficient, and in the future, it is necessary to deepen mechanism research, conduct standardized clinical trials, and promote its safe and precise application.
